India's AMCA Program: A Profile of the Next-Generation Stealth Fighter Jet
India is actively developing its fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), a stealth, multirole fighter. The project is led by the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) in collaboration with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Designed for air superiority and strike missions, the AMCA incorporates advanced features such as supercruise, advanced avionics, and a low radar cross-section. This ambitious program aims to significantly enhance the Indian Air Force's capabilities and reduce reliance on foreign military hardware. The AMCA is intended to eventually replace aging aircraft in the IAF's inventory, including the SEPECAT Jaguar and Dassault Mirage 2000.
