IAI's A330-300 Converted Freighter Completes First Test Flight, Advancing Towards Certification

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has successfully completed the first test flight of its A330-300 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) converted prototype. The flight, which lasted over two hours, is a critical milestone in the aircraft's certification process with the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel (CAAI). This development is part of a joint venture between IAI and the aircraft leasing company Avolon. The program aims to secure a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from CAAI, followed by validation from the FAA and EASA. This conversion program addresses the growing global demand for cargo freighters.
