IAG Confirms Major Fleet Renewal with Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo Orders
International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways and Iberia, has finalized significant orders for new short-haul aircraft from both Boeing and Airbus. Shareholders approved a deal for 50 Boeing 737 MAX jets, with an option to purchase 100 more. This confirms a commitment made in 2019, signaling a major vote of confidence in the aircraft. In addition, IAG placed firm orders for a total of 51 Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The new, more fuel-efficient planes will be delivered between 2023 and 2028. They are set to be used across IAG's portfolio of airlines for fleet replacement and modernization.
