Hong Kong International Airport Cargo Volume Rises 4.9% in April

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) handled 423,000 tonnes of cargo in April 2024, marking a 4.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was primarily driven by a substantial 10.9 percent year-on-year rise in exports. The most significant increases in cargo traffic were recorded with key trading regions, including North America, Europe, and the Middle East. For the first four months of 2024, the airport's total cargo throughput has increased by 11.6 percent to 1.5 million tonnes. The report also noted a strong 33.1 percent recovery in passenger traffic for the month.
