HMM Cargo Ship Adrift After Engine Room Explosion; All Crew Reported Safe
The HMM-operated container ship, Hyundai Platinum, has been left stranded off the coast of Malaysia following an explosion. The incident occurred in the vessel's engine room while it was transiting near the Strait of Malacca. All 23 crew members on board are reported to be safe and have been accounted for. The 8,600 teu ship is now adrift and awaiting the arrival of a salvage tug. The vessel was en route from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to Singapore at the time of the explosion.
