Heathrow's Third Runway Expansion Faces Fresh Six-Month Delay
Plans for a third runway at London's Heathrow Airport have been hit by another significant delay. The Planning Inspectorate has pushed back the deadline for its recommendation to the government by six months, to October 2025. This extension is intended to allow for further consideration of the project's environmental impacts. The controversial expansion plan, which has faced years of opposition from local groups and climate campaigners, was first recommended in 2015. Despite the setback, Heathrow Airport Limited has stated it remains committed to the project.
