Heart Aerospace Unveils 36-Seat ES-36 Hybrid-Electric Aircraft with Major Airline Orders
Swedish aviation startup Heart Aerospace has revealed its new ES-36 hybrid-electric regional aircraft, a significant update to its previous all-electric design. The new model increases passenger capacity to 36 seats and incorporates a reserve-hybrid configuration. This system allows the aircraft to fly 400 kilometers on battery power alone, with a range extension to 800 kilometers using two turbo-generators powered by sustainable aviation fuel. Demonstrating strong market confidence, United Airlines and Mesa Airlines have placed a conditional order for 200 aircraft with an option for 100 more. The company is targeting a 2028 entry into service for the ES-36.
