Hawaii's Mokulele Airlines Advances Plans for All-Electric Seaglider Inter-Island Service

Mokulele Airlines, in partnership with REGENT, is advancing plans to introduce all-electric seagliders for inter-island transportation in Hawaii. These vehicles, which operate using the wing-in-ground-effect principle, fly low over the water and are classified as maritime vessels. The initial 12-passenger "Viceroy" model is slated to be the first in service, with a larger 100-passenger "Monarch" to follow. The initiative aims to create a quieter, zero-emission travel alternative, potentially lowering costs and environmental impact for regional transit. This development represents a significant step towards sustainable transportation in the archipelago.
