Hawaiian Airlines Shareholders Overwhelmingly Approve Merger with Alaska Airlines
Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. shareholders have officially approved the proposed merger with Alaska Air Group, Inc. in a deal valued at approximately $1.9 billion. The proposal was passed with over 99% of the votes cast in favor of the acquisition. While this marks a significant step forward, the merger is not yet final. The transaction still requires regulatory approval from the U.S. Department of Justice. Both airlines anticipate the deal will close within 12 to 18 months, pending the final regulatory review.
