Hapag-Lloyd and Kuehne+Nagel Launch Biofuel Partnership for Sustainable Ocean Shipping
Ocean carrier Hapag-Lloyd and logistics giant Kuehne+Nagel have initiated a new partnership to decarbonise sea freight. As part of the agreement, Kuehne+Nagel will utilize 10,000 TEU of Hapag-Lloyd's transport services that are powered by advanced biofuels. This specific biofuel is produced from waste and residue raw materials, which significantly reduces carbon emissions. The collaboration marks a key step in both companies' efforts to offer carbon-neutral supply chains. This move directly addresses the growing customer demand for environmentally sustainable logistics solutions.
