HAESL Targets Faster Engine Turnaround with New Robotic and AI Tools
Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Ltd. (HAESL) is introducing several new technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce engine maintenance turnaround times. The MRO provider is deploying a new robotic system for cleaning combustors on Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, replacing a lengthy manual process. Additionally, an automated visual inspection tool using artificial intelligence will be used to detect component defects more rapidly. A new digital tool-tracking system is also being implemented to manage the location and calibration of the company's 30,000 tools. These initiatives are part of HAESL's broader "smart MRO" strategy to improve workflow, safety, and operational speed.
