Habib Turki Elected as New Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU)
The International Road Transport Union (IRU) has elected Habib Turki as its next Secretary General. He will succeed Umberto de Pretto, who is retiring after a long tenure. The election was held at the IRU General Assembly in Geneva. Mr. Turki has been with the organization since 2014, most recently serving as the senior director of membership and services. His leadership is expected to address key industry challenges, including decarbonisation and digitalisation within the road transport sector.
