Guimbal Announces Development of Five-Seat Helicopter, Expanding into Turbine Market
French manufacturer Hélicoptères Guimbal is developing a new five-seat, turbine-powered helicopter, marking a significant expansion from its successful two-seat Cabri G2 trainer. The project is the first step toward creating a 'grand family' of rotorcraft, moving the company into a more competitive market segment. This new aircraft will position Guimbal against established models like the Robinson R66, Airbus H125, and Bell 505. The company is currently self-funding the initial development, with a prototype expected within three to four years.
