Grant Aviation Plane Loses Door Mid-Flight Over Alaska, Lands Safely
A Grant Aviation Cessna Grand Caravan lost its cargo door shortly after departing from Bethel, Alaska, for a flight to Kipnuk. The aircraft, which had nine passengers on board, immediately declared an emergency. The pilot successfully turned the plane around and returned to Bethel, landing safely without incident. No injuries were reported among the passengers or crew. The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified and is investigating the cause of the in-flight structural failure.
