Grand Rapids Civil Air Patrol Cadet Earns Scholarship for Private Pilot Training
Cadet Chief Master Sgt. Andrew Erickson of the Grand Rapids Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron has been awarded a Private Pilot Scholarship. The award comes from the CAP's Cadet Wings program, which is a U.S. Air Force-funded initiative designed to address the national pilot shortage. This scholarship will provide the financial assistance needed for Erickson to complete his flight training and earn his private pilot's certificate. Erickson has been an active member of the Civil Air Patrol since the sixth grade. He plans to use this opportunity to pursue his long-term goal of becoming a commercial pilot.
