Gold Coast Helitours Places Pre-Order for SkyDrive SD-05 eVTOL Aircraft
Australian tour operator Gold Coast Helitours has signed a pre-order agreement for up to ten of SkyDrive's SD-05 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The company plans to introduce these three-seat vehicles for scenic flights and air taxi services in the Gold Coast region. This move signifies a shift towards more sustainable and quieter aviation for the local tourism industry. Operations are slated to begin following the SD-05's type certification, which the Japanese manufacturer aims to achieve by 2026. The deal underscores the growing commercial interest in the advanced air mobility market in Australia.
