Gol To Develop Rio de Janeiro's Galeão Airport Into International Hub
Brazilian carrier Gol Linhas Aéreas has announced a strategic plan to transform Rio de Janeiro's Galeão Airport (GIG) into a major international hub. This move, in partnership with airport operator Changi, aims to significantly increase global connectivity from the city. The airline will leverage its extensive domestic network to feed passengers into new and expanded international routes from GIG. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to revitalize the airport, which has seen a decline in international traffic. The goal is to re-establish Galeão as a primary gateway for travelers to and from Brazil.
