Gol CEO: Brazilian Carrier Open to Fleet Diversification Amid Boeing Delays
Gol's CEO, Celso Ferrer, has indicated the Brazilian airline is considering diversifying its fleet, a significant departure from its long-standing single-supplier strategy. The carrier, which exclusively operates Boeing 737 aircraft, is exploring this option due to ongoing production and delivery delays from Boeing. Ferrer mentioned that while the 737 MAX remains the core of their fleet, they are conducting studies on other aircraft types. This potential shift could see Gol introduce jets from other manufacturers, such as Airbus or Embraer, to supplement its operations. The move reflects growing industry-wide concerns about reliance on a single aircraft supplier.
