Global Air Cargo Tonnage, Pricing, and Capacity Decline in Early May
The global air cargo market showed signs of weakening in early May, with worldwide tonnages declining by 2% compared to the previous week. According to data from WorldACD, average global rates also fell by 3% during the same period. While tonnages are down 7% compared to the same week last year, overall capacity has increased by 13%. This suggests a continued softening in demand across the industry. The report also highlights specific regional trends, such as a significant 6% drop in rates from the Asia Pacific region to Europe.
