Global Air Cargo Market Stabilizes as Tonnages and Rates Level Off
Global air cargo tonnages and average rates have stabilized in the last two weeks of June, according to the latest data from WorldACD. While total worldwide tonnages saw a slight 1% decrease compared to the preceding two weeks, average rates held firm, indicating a leveling-off period for the market. This stability comes despite a 2% increase in overall cargo capacity. Regionally, outbound tonnages from the Middle East & South Asia showed strong growth, while volumes from North America experienced a decline. The data suggests the volatile post-Covid market may be entering a period of relative calm.
