Glasgow Prestwick Airport Surpasses One Million Kilogram Milestone for Scottish Salmon Exports
Glasgow Prestwick Airport has achieved a significant milestone, exporting over one million kilograms of Scottish salmon so far this year. This accomplishment highlights the airport's growing importance as a critical hub for Scottish international trade. The fresh salmon is sourced from farms across Scotland and processed at the airport's dedicated facilities. In partnership with freight forwarder Volga-Dnepr, the cargo is regularly flown on a Korean Air Cargo Boeing 777 freighter. This operation primarily serves markets in the USA, showcasing the high global demand for premium Scottish produce.
