Gilat Pursues Airbus Catalog Position as Airframer Adopts Modular IFC Approach
Gilat Satellite Networks is expressing strong confidence in securing a linefit offerable position within the official Airbus aircraft catalog. This ambition is directly linked to Airbus's strategic shift towards a modular approach for inflight connectivity (IFC) hardware, known as the HBCplus program. This new architecture standardizes installation points, allowing airlines greater flexibility in choosing and swapping IFC suppliers. Gilat believes its Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA) technology is a perfect fit for this new system. Securing a place in the catalog would represent a major commercial victory, providing Gilat with direct access to airlines at the point of aircraft purchase.
