Georgia Launches Task Force to Unite Agriculture and Aerospace for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production
A new initiative in Georgia aims to establish the state as a leader in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The Georgia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Task Force, led by the Georgia Center of Innovation, has been formed to connect the state's agriculture and aerospace sectors. Key members include industry giants like Delta Air Lines and Gulfstream Aerospace, alongside agricultural partners. The primary goal is to produce SAF locally using crops such as carinata, a type of mustard seed. This collaboration seeks to reduce the aviation industry's carbon footprint while creating new economic opportunities for Georgia's farmers.
