General Atomics Unveils Ghost: A Hybrid-Electric Stealth Drone
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has revealed its latest unmanned aerial system (UAS), named Ghost. This new drone is part of the company's Low-Cost Attritable Aircraft (LCAA) initiative, designed for high-risk missions. The Ghost features a cutting-edge hybrid-electric propulsion system, allowing it to switch between a traditional engine for transit and silent electric motors for stealthy operations near a target. With an endurance of up to 30 hours, its modular design supports various payloads for surveillance, electronic warfare, and other tactical roles. The aircraft represents a significant advancement in creating cost-effective, survivable assets to support manned aircraft in contested airspace.
