Gatwick Airport Warns August Strikes Could Ground Hundreds of Flights
London's Gatwick Airport is facing significant disruption as ground handling staff announce new strike dates for August. Members of the Unite union employed by Red Handling are set to walk out over a pay dispute. The industrial action is scheduled for eight days, covering the weekends of 18-21 August and 25-28 August. Gatwick officials have warned that this could lead to the cancellation of up to 216 flights, affecting as many as 45,000 passengers. Several international airlines, including Norse Atlantic, Norwegian, and Delta, are expected to be impacted by the strike.
