From the Cockpit: Pilots Detail the Handling Differences Between Boeing's 757 Variants

Pilots report distinct operational differences between the Boeing 757-200 and its stretched -300 variant, despite their common type rating. The most significant challenge for the 757-300 is its increased length, creating a higher risk of tailstrikes during takeoff and landing. This requires pilots to use more gentle and precise flight control inputs during these critical phases. While the heavier -300 also exhibits different climb performance, both aircraft handle very similarly once airborne. Ground maneuvering is also noted as being more demanding for the longer fuselage of the -300.
