Four Dead as Cargo Plane Serving French Military Crashes Off Ivory Coast
A chartered cargo plane crashed into the sea shortly after taking off from the international airport in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. The aircraft, a Fokker 27, was transporting freight for the French military's anti-jihadist operation in the Sahel region. Four Moldovan crew members were killed in the crash. Six other individuals, including four French soldiers and two Moldovans, were injured and subsequently rescued. The incident occurred during a heavy storm characterized by strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning.
