Flybe Administrators Sue Lessors Over 'Unlawful' Aircraft Repossession
The administrators for the collapsed airline Flybe have launched legal action in the United States against two aircraft lessors, Nordic Aviation Capital and Aergo. The lawsuit alleges the companies engaged in an 'unlawful conspiracy' by repossessing 18 of Flybe's Dash 8-400 aircraft. According to the administrators, this action thwarted a potential rescue deal that could have saved the carrier. This repossession ultimately led to Flybe's second and final collapse in January 2023, resulting in the loss of nearly 300 jobs. The legal filing now seeks substantial damages from the leasing firms.
