First All-Electric International Cargo Flight Lands at Ostend-Bruges Airport
The first-ever fully electric international cargo flight has been successfully completed, marking a milestone in sustainable aviation. A Pipistrel Velis Electro aircraft flew from Maastricht Aachen Airport in the Netherlands to Ostend-Bruges Airport in Belgium. The flight, operated by Mentech, was a trial conducted as part of the ELECTRA project to test the viability of electric aviation. The aircraft transported a payload of medical supplies, demonstrating a proof of concept for zero-emission, short-haul logistics.
