Finnair Selects Embraer E2 for Regional Fleet Renewal, Overlooking Airbus A220
Finnair is preparing to modernize its regional fleet, currently operated on its behalf by Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra). The airline aims to replace its aging ATR 72 and Embraer E190 aircraft with a single, more efficient jet type. The competition narrowed to two key contenders: the Embraer E2 family and the Airbus A220. Despite Finnair's strong existing relationship with Airbus for its mainline fleet, the carrier has reportedly chosen the Embraer E2. This decision is considered a significant win for the Brazilian manufacturer in the competitive European market.
