FedEx Secures Over 20 Million Gallons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Seven-Year Deal

FedEx Express has signed a seven-year agreement with World Energy to procure 22.8 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This fuel is designated for the company's air cargo operations at Oakland International Airport in California. The procurement is a significant step towards FedEx's goal of achieving carbon-neutral operations by 2040. The company also aims for SAF to constitute 30% of its total jet fuel usage by 2030. This specific deal is expected to help FedEx avoid approximately 215,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
