FAA To Broaden Mutual Recognition Program For MRO Approvals
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is expanding its policy on mutual recognition for Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities. This change will allow the FAA to accept the certifications of certain MROs approved by foreign aviation authorities with which it has bilateral safety agreements. The new approach aims to reduce redundant regulatory oversight and paperwork for both the agency and the industry. By streamlining the approval process, the FAA hopes to increase available MRO capacity for U.S. air carriers. This policy is expected to enhance efficiency in the global aviation maintenance sector.
