FAA Selects Eight Projects To Advance eVTOL Integration Into National Airspace
The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has chosen eight projects for its Urban Air Mobility Airspace Concept Validation and Verification (ACVV) program. These projects, led by companies like Wisk Aero and Raytheon's Collins Aerospace, aim to accelerate the integration of electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) aircraft into the national airspace. The selections include a mix of industry, academic, and public partners who will conduct simulations and flight tests. This initiative is a critical step in developing the necessary airspace management procedures and safety protocols for future air taxi operations. The program will help validate key concepts to ensure the safe and efficient co-existence of AAM aircraft with traditional air traffic.
