FAA Revokes Operating License of Houston-Based Starflite Aviation
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an emergency order revoking the operating certificate of Starflite Aviation, a charter company based in Houston. The agency alleges that Starflite operated a Learjet on at least 30 flights without a required and functional flight data recorder. According to the FAA, the company was aware of the issue but continued to use the aircraft for passenger-carrying flights. The FAA cited the company's "cavalier attitude toward compliance" as a primary reason for the emergency action. Starflite Aviation is currently appealing the revocation.
