FAA Investigates Delta Flight After Emergency Slide Detaches Mid-Air Over New York
The Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into a Delta Air Lines incident. A Boeing 767, operating as Flight 520 from New York's JFK to Los Angeles, lost an emergency slide shortly after takeoff. The crew reported vibrations and declared an emergency, returning safely to JFK. The detached slide was later discovered in a residential neighborhood in Queens. Delta has taken the aircraft out of service for evaluation and is cooperating with the investigation.
