Etihad CEO: Aircraft Shortage is the Main Constraint Amid China and Africa-Led Growth
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves has identified a lack of available aircraft as the primary obstacle to the airline's expansion. The Abu Dhabi-based carrier is experiencing a significant surge in demand, particularly from recovering markets in China and growing routes in Africa. Neves emphasized that the market for growth is strong, but the inability to acquire new planes is limiting their capacity. This challenge reflects a broader, industry-wide problem of production and delivery delays from major manufacturers like Airbus and Boeing. Despite this constraint, Etihad remains focused on maintaining disciplined and profitable growth following its successful financial turnaround.
