Etihad CEO: Aircraft Shortage is 'Biggest Constraint' Amid Surging Demand From China and Africa
Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves has identified a lack of available aircraft as the primary obstacle to the airline's growth. Speaking at the Skift Global Forum, Neves stated that surging demand, particularly from markets in China and Africa, is outpacing the airline's capacity. He emphasized that global supply chain issues are delaying deliveries from manufacturers like Boeing and Airbus. Neves claimed he could immediately deploy 50 more aircraft if they were available. To cope with the constraint, Etihad has been bringing its Airbus A380s back into service.
