Emirates to Reconfigure High-Density A380s with Premium Economy
Emirates has announced plans to reconfigure its 15 high-density, two-class Airbus A380-800 aircraft. The modification involves removing some Economy Class seats to install the airline's new Premium Economy cabin. This change will slightly reduce the total aircraft capacity from 615 to 613 passengers. The updated layout will feature 56 Premium Economy seats alongside 557 in Economy. The retrofitting work is being conducted in-house by Emirates Engineering in Dubai as part of a wider USD2 billion fleet-wide program. The first aircraft to undergo the conversion is already in the hangar.
