Emirates SkyCargo Deploys First Converted Boeing 777-300ER Special Freighter
Emirates SkyCargo has officially introduced its first converted Boeing 777-300ER special freighter into commercial service. The aircraft recently completed its inaugural flight from Hong Kong to Chicago O'Hare. This is the first of four passenger jets being converted into 'mini-freighters' in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). The conversion provides a payload capacity of up to 100 tonnes, accommodating 27 standard pallets. This fleet expansion strategy allows Emirates to quickly meet growing global cargo demand, with three more conversions scheduled through early 2025.
