Electra and State Partners Complete Hybrid-Electric eSTOL Flight Demonstrations Under FAA Program
Electra.aero has successfully completed flight demonstrations of its EL-2 Goldfinch, a hybrid-electric ultra-short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft. The tests were a collaborative effort with the Pennsylvania (PennDOT) and New Jersey (NJDOT) Departments of Transportation. Conducted under the FAA’s BEYOND program, the flights aimed to advance the integration of new aviation technologies into the national airspace. The demonstrations showcased the aircraft's capability to operate from small general aviation airports, paving the way for future regional air mobility networks. This milestone supports the development of a framework for safe and efficient advanced air mobility operations.
