Electra and Safran Finalize Agreement for Hybrid-Electric Aircraft Turbogenerator
Electra and Safran Helicopter Engines have formalized a development and production agreement for the TG600 turbogenerator. This system will power Electra's nine-passenger hybrid-electric short takeoff and landing (eSTOL) aircraft, the EL-9. The TG600 is designed to deliver 600 kW of electrical power, which will be used for propulsion and to recharge the aircraft's batteries during flight. This partnership marks a critical step in maturing the technology for certification and series production. The collaboration aims to advance the development of Electra's clean and quiet eSTOL aircraft.
