EasyJet to Reopen Southend Airport Base, Creating 130 Jobs
EasyJet has announced it will reopen its base at London Southend Airport in March 2025, marking its tenth base in the United Kingdom. The airline plans to station three A320neo aircraft at the airport, a move that will create approximately 130 jobs for pilots and cabin crew. This relaunch will introduce six new routes to popular leisure destinations including Palma de Mallorca, Faro, Malaga, and Antalya. The decision is a significant boost for Southend Airport, which has faced challenges since the pandemic. The expansion reflects the airline's confidence in the growing demand for travel from the East of England.
