EasyJet to Reopen Southend Airport Base, Adding New Routes and Creating 130 Jobs

EasyJet has announced it will reopen its base at London Southend Airport in March 2024, four years after its pandemic-related closure. The move is expected to create around 130 jobs for pilots and cabin crew in the area. The airline will station three A320neo aircraft at the airport, launching six new routes to destinations including Paris Charles de Gaulle, Amsterdam, and Geneva. This decision provides a significant boost to the airport, whose operator has been navigating financial challenges. Flights for the new services are already available for booking.
