EASA Revises Safety Directive for Cabin Crew Seats on Airbus and ATR Aircraft

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has re-issued an Airworthiness Directive concerning specific SICMA AERO SEAT models for cabin crew. This directive applies to a wide range of popular aircraft, including the Airbus A320, A330, A340 families and ATR 42/72 series. The agency identified a potential non-compliance with certification specifications. This condition could lead to the seat's structural failure during an emergency landing. Such a failure poses a risk of injury to cabin crew and could obstruct emergency exits, compromising evacuation procedures.
