Dynamic Airways Boeing 767 Suffers Uncontained Engine Fire During Taxi at Fort Lauderdale
A Dynamic Airways Boeing 767 experienced an uncontained engine failure and subsequent fire while taxiing for takeoff at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The incident occurred as the aircraft was preparing for a flight to Caracas, Venezuela. The crew aborted the takeoff and an emergency evacuation was performed on the taxiway. Several passengers sustained injuries during the evacuation, with one reported as serious. The NTSB investigation later determined that a fuel leak from the left engine's main fuel hub assembly was the cause of the fire.
