Dormant Ukrainian Carrier Bees Airlines Officially Files for Bankruptcy
Ukrainian low-cost carrier Bees Airlines has officially filed for bankruptcy, with court proceedings initiated on June 25, 2024. The airline has been dormant since the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022 forced a complete suspension of its operations. Consequently, its Air Operator's Certificate was revoked by Ukrainian authorities in the summer of the same year. Before halting flights, Bees Airlines operated a fleet of four leased Boeing 737-800s, which were returned to lessors after the conflict began. The self-initiated bankruptcy gives creditors a 30-day window to submit their financial claims to the Kyiv Commercial Court.
