IoT and asset tracking specialist Digital Matter has launched a new device specifically for the airfreight industry, the Yabby Edge for Air. This cellular IoT tracker is designed to provide long-term, real-time visibility for assets such as Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and pallets. The device features an intelligent 'Flight Mode' which automatically disables transmissions during flight to comply with aviation regulations. With a battery life of up to 10 years on a single set of user-replaceable batteries, it significantly enhances ground-based asset management. The tracker aims to improve operational efficiency and reduce the loss of critical cargo assets.
