Destinus and Shield AI Test 'Hivemind' for Autonomous Drone Teaming in Flight Trials
Swiss-based Destinus has partnered with U.S. company Shield AI to conduct flight tests of an advanced artificial intelligence system in Germany. The trials utilized Shield AI's Hivemind software on two of Destinus's Lord long-endurance drones. This AI pilot technology is designed to enable autonomous teaming, allowing unmanned aircraft to function as intelligent wingmen. The successful tests demonstrated the drones flying and coordinating maneuvers without human intervention. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of autonomous capabilities for future digital combat aircraft architectures for European defense clients.
