Delta and Georgia Leaders Explore Potential of Timber-Based Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Delta Air Lines is collaborating with Georgia state leaders to explore producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from the state's vast, unused timber resources. A recent feasibility study, involving the Georgia Center of Innovation, found significant potential for establishing a new SAF production industry. This initiative supports Delta's goal to replace 10% of its conventional jet fuel with SAF by the end of 2030. If successful, the project could provide a major boost to Georgia's economy while helping to decarbonize the aviation sector.
