Déjà Vu: British Airways 787 Nose Gear Collapse Mirrors Similar Weight-Related Incident From 2016
A British Airways Boeing 787-8 experienced a nose gear collapse while parked at London Heathrow Airport. The UK's Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is currently investigating the cause of the incident. This event is remarkably similar to a 2016 incident where another BA 787 suffered the same failure in Abu Dhabi. In the previous case, an investigation determined the collapse was caused by an incorrect loadsheet from the ground handling agent. That error resulted in the aircraft's center of gravity being too far forward, leading to structural failure of the nose gear.
